The Upper Gate, called the High Gate. Located in the north-eastern part of the Olsztyn Old Town.Built in the 14th century, it is the only one remaining of the three gates that were located within the defensive walls surrounding the city.Over the centuries it has functioned as an armory, a prison, a police station.In a niche from the side of the Old Town there is an image of Our Lady Queen of Peace, donated to Olsztyn by John Paul II.
